About Me
Welcome to my space! I’m Laura Whitney, an Architectural Assistant (RIBA Part 2) with a passion for people and planet centric design. This blog and portfolio serve as a platform to share my professional journey and personal projects, blending my work at a creative architectural design studio with my individual interests in sustainable architecture.
Who Am I?
With a foundation in architectural design and a dedication to sustainability, I work at Studio BAD, where we believe in the power of collaboration and innovative design solutions. My personal focus lies in retrofitting existing buildings, utilizing natural and bio-based materials to enhance both their aesthetic value and performance.
My Passion Project
One of my most exciting endeavors is the renovation of a 150+ year old Welsh stone cottage. This project is a labor of love, combining ancient and traditional building techniques with contemporary sustainability standards. By using solely bio-based materials, I aim to honor the cottage’s history while ensuring its future resilience and environmental harmony.
